Each guide takes you from adding Surfer to your client to running your first request.

Before you start

You need your own Surfer account on a plan that includes MCP. You also need an account for your chosen client. Its setup guide lists any client-specific plan or administrator requirements.

Choose your client

Open the guide for the app you use. ChatGPT web and desktop have different setup steps.

Claude (web and desktop)

Add Surfer as a custom connector in Claude.

Claude Code

Connect from the Claude Code CLI.

ChatGPT (web)

Add Surfer in Developer mode on chatgpt.com.

ChatGPT (desktop)

Connect Surfer in the desktop app and use it in Work.

Cursor

Add Surfer to your Cursor MCP configuration.

VS Code

Connect Surfer to GitHub Copilot in VS Code.

Codex (CLI and IDE)

Add Surfer from the terminal or IDE extension.

Other clients

Connect another client that supports remote MCP and OAuth.
